Education Management Information Systems (EMIS)
The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the access and delivery challenges in Africa's education sector, highlighting a need for innovative educational technology models, such as OpenEMIS, as a way to improve the information flow to support the management, the administration and governance of education at all levels ensuring all children and young people access quality teaching and learning in its institutions. Since then, Larbos employed some of the top experts in EMIS in Southern Africa and has worked with the Ministry of Education for 4 countries which are part of the Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) Africa 19 Hub, which was established in March 2020. The projects worth a mention include:
- Mobile application for Teacher Training Library - Malawi, 2022
- Integration of School Level Aggregated data into Open EMIS for the generation of the Annual Statistical Reports 2021 and 2022 - Lesotho, 2023
- Revitalisation of EMIS - Juba Pilot - South Sudan, 2024
- E-learning System for Primary Education - Zimbabwe, 2020, 2024
